Is It Possible to Use a Modem as a Router?

Many people are wondering why they need a modem and router. The truth is that you can use a cable modem as the only device in your home network, but it will not provide any routing capability to other devices on the internet. If you want this functionality, then you’ll have to set up an additional router (or switch) in your home network.

Can I use a cable modem as a router?

Is it possible to use a modem as a router? Cable modems are known for being high quality, low price cable internet connections. They can be used by themselves or in conjunction with another device such as a router to allow more devices on the network at one time. Cable modems connect directly into your computer via an ethernet port and sometimes have wireless capabilities. Cable modems do not work as a router and will not provide internet access to other devices – they must be used with another device (such as a router) which can create and share the connection via Wi-Fi or ethernet cables.

Cable modems are not always compatible with existing routers and they will need to be reset in order for them both to work together. Cable modems can also have a MAC address assigned by the manufacturer that is different from what your router assigns, which may cause issues when setting up multiple devices on your home network. Cable modems are known for being reliable and high performing, but they do not have the ability to provide internet access to other devices on their own.

A router is required in order to share your internet connection with multiple devices. Cable modems can be used with routers or switches, but they cannot function as a router on their own – they require another device such as a switch or wireless access point to transmit the signal and allow other computers and devices to connect to the internet. Cable modems can also be used with VOIP phone services, which allow you to use your high-speed network connection for voice over internet protocol (VOIP) calls instead of a standard telephone line or cellular service. Cable modems are not routers and do not provide routing capabilities – they require another device in order to route internet traffic and share the connection with other devices on your home network.

The internet service provider will typically provide you with the modem. The other items that are needed to get your home network up and running are a router, Ethernet cables/network cable (to make connections between devices), power source for all of these devices, as well as software installations on each of the computers in your household.

You can use a modem as just the router, though. In this scenario, you will need to change your computer’s connection settings from having an “automatic” internet connection type to one of these:

– manual IP address configuration (IPv42)

– PPPoE DSL service

– Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol Service

This will allow your computer to get on the internet via a modem. These connection types can usually be found under “network” settings within the operating system of your device, though Windows users might also need to install drivers for their specific machine type. You’ll also have to make sure that you’re using a cable router or switch, as opposed to a wireless router.

Is modem and router the same?

To reiterate, a modem is not the same as a router. A cable modem is used to get internet from your service provider and into your home network. It is generally considered to be more reliable than other types of modems because it works with cable TV lines that are already in place at most homes which use Comcast or another cable company for their internet connection. Cable modems are not set up to function as routers, so they need a router in order for all the devices on your home network to receive internet access at once.

A modem is used by itself or with another device such as a wireless access point (WAP) or router to provide high-speed internet connections throughout an area of a building. Modems are not routers, which is why they need another device in order to share an internet connection with multiple devices at once.

Which is better a modem or a router?

A cable modem is a better choice for which you want to get internet from your service provider and into your home network. Cable modems are not set up to function as routers, which means that they need another device in order for all the devices on your home network to receive internet access at once.

You can use a modem only if it is connected to another device which will allow all the devices on your home network to receive internet access at once. These connection types can usually be found under “network” settings within the operating system of your device, though Windows users might also need to install drivers for their specific machine type.

Modems are not routers which is why they need another device in order to share an internet connection with multiple devices at once.

The Difference Between Router and Modem

This article will look at two devices, a modem and a router to explain how they are different. A modem has been traditionally used as that box in your home or office where coaxial cable from the outside world comes through into it, but this can be pretty limiting for many people’s modem setups. If you want to know more about this fundamental distinction, read on for a brief glimpse into their definitions.

What is a modem?

A modem is what you plug into your existing internet source (cable or fiber optic) to receive the signal that comes over these cables.  It takes this data and turns it back into something computers can understand because modems are responsible for taking an internet/data signal coming in through coaxial cable, fiber optic line or wireless connection at your home or office and then making sense out of it for your computer.

A modem can also be what you connect to a wireless router, but this is different than having the cable plugged directly into it.  Your router will not work without a modem, so if you do not have one connected to your internet service provider (ISP), you will not be able to connect your devices (computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones) to the internet.

What is a router?

A router is what you plug into your modem, which will then allow all of your devices to access the internet.  Most routers are wireless and connect through WiFi signals (wireless) for this reason allowing multiple devices to be able to use an existing network signal at one time without having direct access or being physically connected with wires that can restrict what you are able to do.

A router acts as the “traffic director” for your local area network, which allows you access to the internet through a single modem. What this means is that instead of every device needing its own individual connection to your ISP, you can use one signal from your modem and send it out over WiFi or an Ethernet cable to all your different devices at once.

A router also takes the signal coming into it from a modem and turns this data back into something that computers can understand.  This is what allows your devices to access the internet without having them physically connected with wires or cables, but instead sending out an electronic wireless signal that they connect with in order to communicate across networks. A router connects various networks and traces network traffic between them.

Difference between a modem and a router

The main difference between a modem and a router is that routers are used for home networking to connect multiple devices at the same time, while modems are responsible for taking an internet signal coming into your house or office through coaxial cables or fiber optic lines.

Many people are not aware of the difference between a modem and a router.  If you have cable internet, your internet service provider (ISP) likely provides both for free when you sign up with them. The main difference is that it takes an existing network signal from coaxial cables or fiber optic cables coming in to your home or office and turns into data that computers understand.  For example, when you are using the internet your computer is sending data to a website that it wants to access and then receiving information back from that site in order for it to load on your screen or into an application window.

It also takes the incoming signal coming into your modem and turns it into data that each of these different devices can understand.

How does a modem connects to the internet?

A modem connects to the internet by taking an existing network signal coming into your home or office and turning it into data that computers can understand. This is how you are able to access the internet through your internet service provider’s network of cables coming in from outside your home or office.

For example, when you send a message to someone on Facebook and it is sent over the internet your router sends that data out of its connection through the modem. The outside world sees this as activity happening on your home or office network but they do not see any specific devices which are connected because all of them are using one signal coming in from your ISP’s cables.

This is why it is important for you to have a router so that all your different devices can access this one incoming signal coming in from the outside world.

If you don’t have a modem, then each device would need its own connection which makes accessing the internet more difficult and less efficient because not all of them will be able to communicate with the outside world at one time. It would also cost you more money to purchase all of these individual connections for every device that needs internet access than it would be to just get a router and modem set up by your internet service providers when they install their network cables coming in from the outside world into your home or office.

How does a router give multiple devices access to the internet?

A router is what you connect all your devices to. This includes computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones. It allows these different devices to access the internet connection at one time because they are connecting through a single modem that has been connected into it with an ethernet cable or WiFi signal (wireless).

The modem is responsible for the essential connection to the internet, but the router serves as a sort of bouncer, manager, and traffic director for your local network. The router acts as a secure check point by allowing internet access to your devices while they use the internet.

So now that you know the difference between modem and router, it is easy to tell which one is right for your needs.

A Guide to How Your Router Works

A network without a router will most likely not have internet access because the data is being transmitted through more points than what one central point can handle. A router also serves as what’s called “firewall protection” for your network and any other device connected to it, preventing hackers from accessing what’s not supposed to be accessed.

What is a router?

A router is a device that allows you to connect various devices to your Internet source. This means it can be used for sharing a same internet connection with more than one computer or other internet-enabled device, such as a tablet or smartphone. Routers are very important because what they do essentially turns the place where you use them into a hotspot – this allows any connected devices to have access to the same network and share information between each other easily! It also makes home networking possible by allowing local area networks (LANs) within homes and offices.

Type of Routers

What is a Wired Router?

A wired router connects computers on a local network (LAN) and provides them access to a wide area network (WAN), such as the Internet. Ethernet cables are typically used for these connections, and most current wired routers support 10/100 Mbps connections for optimal data transfer rates.

What is a Wireless Router?

Is a device that sends and receives wireless signals. If you want to be able to wirelessly connect your devices, like mobile phones or laptops, then you need the wireless router options in order for them to work properly. Wireless routers are used by many homes and businesses because they provide internet access without having lots of messy wires everywhere!

Difference of wired and wireless router

The difference between a wired router and wireless router is that when you are using the wired connection, it does not rely on radio signals to transfer data. This means they are less susceptible to outside interference from other devices in your area. Wireless routers use these same types of waves instead but send them out over longer distances so you can get access anywhere in your house or place of work.

Why do I need a wireless routers?

Routers are good if you want more than one computer at home all connected up together into one network so that no matter where people use their computers from within the house (or office), they can share information between each other easily. Instead of having cables running throughout your house/office, which would start looking very untidy after awhile due to how many there would be, wireless routers provide an easier way to connect your computers up into a network. Routers are also great if you’re in the market for things like wireless printers because they allow many different users to have access at once without them getting in each other’s ways by sending data packets through one another!
A network without a router will most likely not have internet access because the data is being transmitted through more points than what one central point can handle. A router also serves as what’s called “firewall protection” for your network and any other device connected to it, preventing hackers from accessing what’s not supposed to be accessed.

Why do I need a wired router?

The main reason you would need a wired router is if your home or office has more than one computer that needs to have access to the internet. Routers are great for making sure everyone can stay connected and share information with each other, without things being too slow because of how many people might be using it at once. Another good thing about routers is that they can be used for other things like wireless printers or any other small devices that don’t take up too much data and need to share it with the world.
If you do not have a router, your network will most likely not have an internet connection because there are more points of access than what can be processed by one central point. The router also protects your network from being hacked by other people trying to gain access to what they are not supposed to have.

How to connect your device to wired router?

Wired Routers can vary from model to model so it’s important to check out some tutorials on how they work before setting yours up properly as there may be steps involved which might seem unfamiliar to you. However, wired routers are very simple and easy to set up as long as they come with a CD or booklet along with them which includes all the necessary information for installation.

How to connect multiple devices to wireless router?

To connect wireless devices to your wireless router, you will need a wireless adapter for each device that you want to be able to access the internet with. You can purchase wireless adapters at most electronic or computer stores and they are usually very easy to install on whatever operating system is running on your PC/laptop/tablet/smartphone!
If you don’t have wireless adapters already installed in every device that you wish to connect up together into one network, then it’s probably best if you go out and get some because otherwise there won’t be any way of connecting them all up together through cables either which would mean no connection between devices until another solution was found…which could take time (and money!). A wireless router has lots of wireless network adapters already built in, however wireless routers are usually only able to support up to a certain amount of wireless devices connected at once (e.g. most wireless routers can handle about five wireless devices before they start becoming overloaded and slow). So if you want more than this number of wireless devices on your network then it’s probably best that you go for buying another router instead – don’t try and overload one by adding too many!

How to Watch Movies with Friends Remotely During a Quarantine

How to Watch Movies with Friends Remotely During a Quarantine

Social distancing helps you stay healthy, but if you’re going a little stir crazy with gatherings on indefinite hold — you’re not alone. With no end in sight, how can you prepare for the long haul and stay connected with friends? Why not host a remote movie night on one of these platforms?

Netflix Party
Netflix Party is a free Google Chrome extension that lets you stream content remotely via desktop.

The Good

Netflix’s video quality is impressive — your favorite movies and TV shows are synchronized in HD quality. Users can comments on them as if they were in the same room.
Other pros include light-speed buffering for smooth viewing and a user-friendly menu that gets the party started in minutes. Avatars, screenshots and GIFs make it a truly interactive experience.

The Bad

While the extension is free, everyone invited needs a Netflix account. They’re offering a free trial, and for less than $10 a month, it’s a bargain — but not everyone will agree.

Unlike other remote viewing options, users are limited to chat — there’s no voice protocol — and because it’s new, it can be glitchy at times. Updates are in the works.

Discord and Twitch

Discord is gamers’ preferred platform for group streaming, but combine it with Twitch — Amazon’s video game streaming service — and you can share all of your Amazon content with friends.

The Good

Both Discord and Twitch are free. You can communicate via voice, video or text, and user interfaces are a pleasure to use.

The Bad

Both programs are required for a steaming party, and some may find the integration too technical. An Amazon Prime subscription is required.

Designed for business web conferences, Zoom allows hosts to rent online rooms for movie parties.

The Good

If you’re working from home, you may already have Zoom on your computer. It’s free to download and includes 40 minutes of meeting time for up to 100 people. Video and audio are HD quality. Participants call in by phone, and content can be paused to allow speakers to see each other.

The Bad

Zoom’s free version is ideal for working remotely, but 40 minutes of video time isn’t enough to watch a full-length movie. Plans that do cost $15 per month or more, but if you already use ZOOM for business, upgrades are worth a closer look.

Skype is the world’s most popular VoIP option for making online video calls.

The Good

Movie parties with Skype are free. Create an invitation list, and a single click notifies everyone in the group that it’s movie time. Stream content from a pay-for service or use your computer to play DVDs.

The Bad

Viewers are limited to 25, and you can’t hear both the movie and your friends with adding a program like Discord to handle audio. Video quality is adequate for chatting with family, but it’s sub-par for films.

YouTube Live
YouTube Live is the live-streaming extension of the YouTube you know and love.

The Good

YouTube’s familiar platform is already on millions of devices. Stream in real-time or share pre-recorded videos via your computer. Hardware requirements are minimal.

The Bad

Viewer comments are limited, and voice options are nil. Video quality is excellent, but it’s tough to capture the party atmosphere.

Final Thoughts

Hosting a streaming party is the perfect way to get together with friends but not their germs. Just one caution — don’t use content that you don’t have permission to share. Now relax and enjoy the show.

How to Make Headphones Sound Better on Computer

How to Make Headphones Sound Better on Computer

For audiophiles and casual music listeners, having good sound output from our headphones is one of our top priorities. Because of this, we go through great lengths to improve the quality of sound that comes out from our headphones. While the task may sound very simple, achieving this feat can be overwhelming for those who are not well equipped with technical knowledge.

If you listen to music or watch movies using your computer, you will be pleased to know that there are methods that you can use to improve the sound of your headphones. While you can argue that you can always buy the most expensive headphones in the market, there are more practical and even more efficient ways of getting a more holistic audio experience.

In this article, we will teach you how to make headphones sound better on computers. There are four means of improving the sound quality of your headphones. With this at hand, let’s get right into the discussion.

Improve Music Quality

The first way of getting a better audio experience is by improving music quality. What we mean by music quality is not the actual musical quality that comes out from your favorite artists or musicians but rather the source or format of the audio file.

When listening to music, there has to be, what music experts call; a good signal chain. This signal chain composes of the hardware as well as the software that is involved with the audio output. The equipment is the headphones or the listening device you are using, while the software is the audio file that you are listening to.

In terms of music quality, the best sources are still the old vinyl records or CDs. While these devices might sound off-kilter right now and outdated, you will be hard pressed to see any digital sources that can rival the quality of sound that comes from these sources. Most of the people today listen to music in the digital format, which is usually very compressed, leading to poor quality. Websites like youtube or social media sites can give users the music they want, but the sound quality is not very good.

Thankfully, getting a more productive and more worthwhile audio experience is still possible at this digital age thanks to streaming platforms such as Spotify and Tidal. We highly recommend you to subscribe to the paid versions of these platforms as they can stream music without the unnecessary compression, giving you excellent, unbridled sound quality.

Another method you can use to improve the sound quality when listening to your headphones is by getting a DAC or a Digital to Analog Converter. Before the audio output reaches your eardrums, it is still at the digital form. This is where the DAC comes into the picture, which converts the digital output into something perceivable by the human ears.

Every audio equipment, even computers, have a built-in DAC. Sadly, not all computers come with capable DAC. Because of this, the conversion does not churn out high-quality output. With this, to get a better audio experience, you might want to equip yourself with a separate DAC.

An external DAC dons a small and compact form factor that can be plugged into the computer through the USB port. External DACs come in different price points. Regardless of the price, these devices can vastly improve the quality of sound that comes out from your headphones.

Get A Headphone Amp

The third method is by using a headphone amplifier. While DACs and playing a high-quality audio file can vastly improve the sound quality output from your headphones. Passing it through an amplifier has probably one of the most significant improvements in terms of sound quality.

The amplifier, as the name implies, amplifies the volume of the audio without sacrificing the clarity and sharpness of the sound. It also deepens the lows and accentuates the highs of the audio. Nevertheless, users can tinker with the settings of the headphone amplifier to their preferred configuration.

Get a Good Set of Headphones

Finally, the most prominent and efficient way of achieving a more holistic and worthwhile audio experience is by equipping yourself with a good set of headphones. With this, you need to choose wisely when buying headphones. While you can dish out thousands of dollars to obtain the most expensive headphones in the market, there are fabulous headphones at price ranges that won’t break the bank.

One of the things you need to consider when buying a pair of headphone is noise canceling. If you are always traveling or living in an environment that has tons of noise pollution, then you might want to consider a headphone that has active noise canceling. Moreover, the noise canceling feature will help the headphone achieve a fuller sound that is not disrupted by outside noise. It will be like having your private listening party.

Another thing you should look into when buying headphones is the type of drivers it comes with. The driver is an integral part of the speakers inside the headphones which are responsible for producing the sound. Most cheap headphones come with TI: DR drivers who can provide excellent music, but tends to churn out a more synthetic and artificial output. More expensive headphones come with planar magnetic drivers or the electrostatic drivers. While these drivers help provide a more vibrant and more detailed sound, they might require specialized amplifiers to work correctly. Nevertheless, if you have hundreds of dollars to spare, you might want to consider these types of headphones.

Other factors and aspects that you need to consider include sensitivity and impedance of the headphones. Aside from these, you also need to look into the frequency response, which is responsible for the quality of highs and lows the headphone can produce.

So there you have it, those are the methods that you can employ to get a better audio experience from your headphones when listening to music or watching videos through your computer. You may want to buy the most expensive headphones in the market to satisfy your audiophile needs, but you also might want to do the methods mentioned above, to have a more holistic audio experience.

How to Replace Laptop Hard Drive and Reinstall Operating System

How to Replace Laptop Hard Drive and Reinstall Operating System

People usually replace the hard drives of their laptops for many reasons. However, among these, the most common causes include a failed or failing hard disk, insufficient storage and the need for a faster hard drive.

When choosing a hard drive replacement, you need to consider a lot of factors. This includes the storage capacity as well as the newer interface. Generally, new released hard drives such as the SATA are faster and more efficient compared to the obsolete IDE hard drives. The speed can be attributed to the more rapid rotation of the disk inside the unit. With this at hand, you get to enjoy faster boot up rates and more advanced data transfer technology.

If you have finally decided to change or replace your dusty old hard drive, there are a lot of things to take note and prepare. In this article, we will teach you how to replace a laptop hard drive and reinstall the operating system.

Getting Prepared

As mentioned, before replacing the hard drive, there are some preparations you need to do. The first step is to back up all your relevant data into another drive. The best option would be to transfer or back up your data to an external hard drive.

You can also make use of the backup utility provided by Windows. However, you can also use third-party backup applications such as SyncBack. With this, you need to back up the critical files on your hard drive which include relevant documents, music, videos, and bookmarks.

For Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird browser users, you can make use of the built-in application that allows you to backup all the browsing and email data. For Firefox, they have the MozBackup which can also be downloaded through the browser for free.

For those who are still stuck with the older Internet Explorer browser, you can backup all your bookmarks as an HTML file. Moreover, outlook users can also export and back up emails using the built-in application.

Once you have already backed up all your essential data, you also need to make sure that you have the system recovery disc at hand as well as the Windows Product Key. These things will come in hand when you restore the operating system.

Aside from the recovery disk, you also need to secure the driver discs or the installer files of the applications and programs of your laptop. You can always download the necessary drivers once you have installed the new hard drive and restored the operating system. But to save the hassle, it is better to have these things prepared before you proceed to the next steps.

Another easy way of backing up your files is to produce a backup image of the data and the entire drive and then transfer it to the new hard drive once it is already installed. You can create an image file of the disk through programs such as Norton Ghost.

Choosing a New Hard Drive

When looking for a new hard drive, there are some factors you need to consider.  One of the most important things you need to check is whether your old hard drive uses a SATA or IDE Interface. If you are not familiar with how to determine this, you can use tools. One of the tools you can use is the Belarc Advisor which looks into your system and reveals relevant information about the hard drive and the operating system.

Moreover, you also need to consider the amount of space for your new hard drive. It is best to equip yourself with a hard drive with larger storage space. This is because most programs now use a lot of data which can take a considerable amount of space for your hard drive.

Lastly, we highly recommend you to buy the newer SSD hard drives instead of, the older HDD. This is because they generally perform better and faster.

Installing the Hard Drive

After backing up all your essential data and buying a new hard drive. It is now time to install the new one. To do this, you need to turn the unit over and check the chassis.

Laptops differ in terms of design and form. However, most laptops have an enclosure for the hard drive placed behind the panel which is secured by a couple of screws. You need to remove the screws and reveal the group.

After removing the panel, you can now see the hard drive which is enclosed in a metal cage. A strip of tape or cloth is placed seamlessly under the disc to aid in more comfortable and faster removal of the drive. Carefully remove the hard drive using the piece of tape or fabric. The connector for the hard drive is equipped with flexible pins. When removing the drive, make sure not to twist the pins when lifting the unit.

Take the hard drive out of the cage and then install the new hard drive. Make sure the new hard drive is oriented correctly on the enclosure. Put back the chassis over the back panel. When you want to partition or format the new hard drive, you can do this after setting up the operating system.

Reinstall the Operating System

After putting the new hard drive, the next step is to restore or reinstall the operating system. To do this, you need to turn on the unit and then press the hotkey that will direct you to the BIOS options. Laptops make use of different hotkeys, but they are usually Del or F2. In here, look at the hard drive status and check whether the system was able to pick up the new drive.

After this, navigate to the boot section of the BIOS and then modify the settings so that the laptop will be able to boot from the CD and afterward, the hard drive. After doing the changes mentioned above, click on Save and continue with the bootup process.

Once finished booting up, insert the setup disk we have mentioned earlier. Do the necessary steps prompted on the windows set up and then reboot the unit. After installing Windows and restoring it to its previous state, navigate to the BIOS and then change the booting mode from the “boot from CD” to “Boot to the hard drive.” After doing this, everything is set.

5 Reasons You Need A WiFi Booster

5 Reasons You Need A WiFi Booster

In this day and age, it’s critical to have a solid wireless connection in and around your home. Whether you have a dead spot in a corner of your house, your basement, your garage, or somewhere in your backyard, you should be able to have a solid WiFi signal anywhere near your primary connection and router.

One of the main problems many people experience with their wireless internet is sporadic slowness or connection loss. This can happen for a number of reasons.

A common and extremely effective method for improving your signal would be to use a WiFi booster. These small gadgets are often inexpensive, yet highly effective at creating a strong, solid signal for you anywhere in and around your home.

Wondering if you should get a wireless extender? Take a quick look at these 5 reasons why you would want to improve your wireless connection.

1. You have rooms or areas in your home with poor or no WiFi signal

If you have a bedroom, corner room, or other area that is usually spaced further from your router, you may experience poor or no wireless signal. These areas are often referred to as “dead spots” or “dead zones” and can be extremely frustrating to deal with. In most cases, these spots are too far from your router.

However, because of how wireless signal is distributed, there may be other reasons causing this dead zone in your home. For instance, thick walls, other electronics, and other elements within your home can all impact the strength and distance of your wireless signal. In these cases, it often makes sense to use a wireless booster to improve coverage and eliminate areas in your home without signal.

2. You have rooms or areas in your home with a slow WiFi connection

Much like the first reason, poor signal can also cause a slow connection. In cases like this, you will often keep your connection, but it will be extremely slow and sometimes unusable for streaming or other data-heavy applications. A slow connection is often a huge flag for someone to start using a wireless extender.

3. You want to be able to use the fastest WiFi speeds

Your connection speed is usually a metric of your ISP (Internet Service Provider) plan, your modem, and your router. However, being able to maximize the speed you have from those 3 elements can be influenced with a WiFi booster or extender. Many of the new versions of booster and extenders allow you to upgrade to the latest and greatest WiFi technology, even up to 802.11ac speeds. Plus, you don’t need to replace your modem, router, or upgrade your monthly Internet plan.

Important Note: If your router is multiple years old and does not support the newest technologies, you are not likely currently experiencing the fastest connection possible. This is where the 802.11ac boosters shine. They bring the newest and fastest connection speeds to your network.

You want to make sure you find a WiFi booster with features like dual-band WiFi and/or Multi-User MIMO for the greatest benefits.

4. Your house is large or has a long or spread layout

If you live in a larger home, chances are you should be using at least one WiFi booster. At the same time, even if your home is modest in size, it may have a layout where a WiFi booster can really help. Many ranch-style homes or homes with an elongated layout experience poor signal in certain rooms (depending on router positioning).

Since concrete, walls, and wood can all impact wireless signal, many homes require at least one WiFi extender for best performance.

5. You want WiFi outside in your yard or in your garage

Much like the layout of your home, your ability to have a strong wireless connection in your garage or yard will also depend on a variety of factors. However, if you are looking for great signal in your garage or in your yard, it makes sense to have your signal boosted.

After all, you probably want to enjoy music or movies even if you’re on your porch, out in the backyard, sitting by the pool, or hanging out in the garage. By installing a wireless extender close to where you will be when you’re outside, you can experience a strong signal and enjoy your fast wireless connection throughout your property.
